Piercing Swords in Dark Souls II are a type of Weapon that mainly focuses its attack with thrusts, capable for getting through heavy armor or scales of the opponent. The Piercing Swords attack motion allows rapid thrusting attacks in quick succession, its runniong attack performs a lunge which allows users to gain a farther reach compared to other swords.The vast majority of Strength weapons in the game require 20 or less Str to 2-hand as well. They're still classified as Str weapons. I've never just stopped at 2 handing a weapon though. It makes using a shield much harder, and dodge-only is definitely a playstyle you can choose but is rarely my cup of tea and certainly isn't definitively better.The bow barely scales with Dex at all. It's still pretty powerful, but in the long run you'll have better bows. Honestly, if you're not going Str and/or Int the Dragonrider weapons aren't that great. You'd probably be better off holding out for the Warped Sword or Chaos Blade or something. 9.

With three innate damage types (Physical, Magical, Lightning), an S DEX scaling, and an insane counter strength of 140, you definitely don't want to be on the wrong end of this blade.
