E46 seats
Retrofitting E9X seats into E46. My E46 M convertible seats (heated/electric) are extremely uncomfortable. The sports seats I have in the E39 are 100x better. So, a set of E93 M seats in good condition has just popped up for cheap. Not much info on the net about this retrofit, unfortunately.Philadelphia, PA. Posts. 5,660. My Cars. 2005 M3 & 2004 330i. E46 seats fit in the E53 if you swap some trim - same should be true for the other way around. I'm not sure about E39 seats however. You step into the car, and place the child/baby int the seat. Its easier as you are standing straight, rather than twisting your back trying to put them in through the door in a sedan. If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much room.

You'll need to swap in the occupancy sensor from the passenger seat of the e46, and make custom brackets (I think) Also, it would be tough to get power seats working, since the connectors are very different. Tapcut harness to motors not the seat controls (I found cutting the harness was easier. These individual switches only had 2 heat settings, high & low, and there appears to be differences between the individual switch wiring and design and the console style that came in most other cars.
