Looking to possibly go with 35s on my Rubicon and would appreciate any and all feedback; pros/cons/which ones to go with/etc. No lift and keeping factory wheels. 35x11.5 tire. Probably Toyo or Nitto? Using the same tires year round with tread comparable to factor Rubicon. Driving is primarily city and highway. Then again, from OEM tires to 32 mud terrains took a big hit. Went from 19-21mpg, to 18mpg on the 32" Falken M/T (yes 255/75/17 not Rubicon takeoffs), and now down to 15mpg on the 35 versions. Height wise, you'll have no problem, but width wise might be an issue unless going with aftermarket wheels with a low offset. Not all 33s are 12.5 wide. If I was your builder I would have put 5:38 cogs in a set of Dyantrac ProRock 60's F/R and I would go with the XD ProRock which is rated for 44 in tires.

While these aren't technically "35's", they measure right at 35 inches, zero modifications other than mounting them on the stock wheels. I think plenty of people have 35's without suspension mods, worst case you'd probably need a leveling kit. ….

Hi all, So i'm considering going to 35 inch for my Rubicon next spring. Now, I don't want to go full lift as I will do very mild off-roading. My reasoning is that since the oem tires are 32.5 inches in reality and I plan on going 315/70R17 which are 34.5, that a 2 inch difference. I lost around 1.5" of front suspension height when I put on a bumper and winch, but there's not much travel available before tires touch fenders (high Rubicon fenders).AEV’s 2.5 lift is more like 3 inches. A lot of manufacturers 3 inch lifts are more like 2-2.5 inch lifts. The 3” AEV lift is closer to 4-4.5”. They’re designed for loaded trucks. With an AEV 3” lift and fully loaded, mine retains a slight rake.
