Now they could be nitrided from the factory, but that wouldn't matter because when Daniel Defense actually finishes the barrel, they do not nitride.Sep 12, 2020 · The MR556A1 is a chunky half-brother to the 416 with the best part (the barrel) not even being of the same pedigree. Appropriately enough, Daniel Defense did the finish work on the MR556's state-side for legal/import red tape reasons. It shoots well, but it's heavy, proprietary and unnecessarily expensive.

The 416/MR556 isn't a magic ticket to running perfectly suppressed...look and you will find guys having issues with both MR556 based guns and true 416 guns.
