The Smithsonian’s museums display objects from our collections that span the breadth of art and design from the ancient to the modern-day, from the whimsical to the practical. Most Smithsonian museums close at 5:30 p.m. every day, but there are a few exceptions. The Portrait Gallery and American Art Museum are open until 7 p.m. every day.
